G.P. Wagenfuhr is currently the executive transitional pastor of the United Presbyterian Church (ECO) of Cañon City, Colorado where he has been since May of 2014. Wagenfuhr has helped this church, in decline for over 50 years, plant a new congregation in the same town, and finance a new non-profit which he has co-founded The Historic Church Conservancy of Fremont County. Wagenfuhr is committed to the calling the wide Church to lead the way in demonstrating true Christian responsibility in a world built upon the vision of the divestment of responsibility through democracy, the corporation, the internet, virtual reality, and other technologies.
He received his PhD in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Bristol in 2013, his MDiv from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2009, and his BA in Philosophy and Ancient Languages from Wheaton College in 2005.
His first monograph is Plundering Egypt (Cascade, 2016). He regularly speaks on Jacques Ellul and has published a number of papers on this and related subjects.
He serves as the part-time Resource Coordinator for the Theology Task Force of ECO and has taught biblical languages at Trinity College, Bristol, UK.
He's also a part-time bicycle mechanic.
